Tackling Health Inequity – Thriving After Cancer – Boosting Workforce Resilience

Health Inequity

Without a doubt, the Covid-19 pandemic has put a significant strain on global healthcare systems. Within the first few months of its onset, it became apparent in countries like the UK and USA that people from ethnic minority backgrounds were more adversely affected than the rest of the population. The evidence pointed to poorer outcomes and higher mortality rates.

These inequities are not new but historically, research into this area has been insufficient. Thus, the pandemic became a megaphone with a message that could no longer be ignored – a new approach to tackling poorer health outcomes of people from ethnic minority backgrounds is required. The old methods of addressing health inequities faced by this segment of the population have been woefully inadequate as they failed to address the root causes of the problem.
This is where Inspired To Soar comes in with proven tools to promote lasting change. With unique insight into issues on the community level as well as systemic problems within the healthcare system, regional, national and professional bodies are equipped with the right tools to create lasting positive change.
By raising awareness, facilitating open, frank discussions as well as encouraging accountability, the narratives of poorer outcomes and experiences will be changed. This is being done through the use of masterclasses, training seminars and production of audio-visual content to support training of healthcare/medical professionals. This new approach will become the future of health equity work. Underpinned by research evidence as well as people’s lived experiences, the recommendations are practical and fit for purpose.

As the days roll by, you come to the realisation that there’s more to life than merely existing. The mask of being okay that you have put on can only stay in place for so long.
You are now wondering what’s next in this new normal that you never bargained for.

Dear courageous woman, YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

It is okay to desire a thriving and more fulfiling life after cancer. However, there is no magic bullet. It takes being intentional about going after your dreams no matter what.

Let me show you how

Workforce Resilience

In 2017, Bami published her first book titled: Navigating Your New Normal: A Road Map For Life Fulfilment After Trauma.
This was where she defined the new normal as: “a change in outlook, perspective and day to day living that trauma of serious illness, injury or bereavement brings”.
She was the first person to define the new normal in such terms. In the book, a 7-step framework was introduced as a practical toolbox for individuals and organisations to bounce back and flourish after traumatic experiences.

As we continue to navigate a post-Covid workplace, wellbeing has taken on a new significance, given the turmoil that people and organisations have undergone. With uncertainty caused by new waves/strains of the pandemic, organisations not only have to be more resilient than ever but they also have to discover new ways of sustaining resilience no matter what lies ahead. The peculiarity of this time is that leaders themselves have not been spared the trauma either yet they have the responsibility to support their workforce as well as lead the path to organisational growth and productivity. The Navigating Your New Normal (NYNN©) framework was specifically designed for that purpose. Leaders are given tools to properly contextualised their own trauma. They are then better equipped to lead healthy organisations boosting and sustaining the resilience of their workforce in challenging, uncertain times.

This is for you if you want to:

  • Build stronger teams amidst pressure
  • Support your staff to restore compromised resilience
  • Foster team cohesion with hybrid working patterns
  • Build a responsive organisation in uncertain times
  • Keep customer confidence in a post-Covid world
  • Boost efficiency and productivity
  • And much more tailored to the needs of your organisation
